Although the holidays are behind us, we should always be mindful of those in need. Day 34 of the federal government shutdown is upon us and we can’t help but think of the TSA and air traffic control teams working in our cities airport.
So, we sprung into action. Yesterday, we started a Gift Card Donation Drive to help our airport agents keep food on the table and gas in their cars. Our office will be accepting donations until the shutdown is over — Monday – Friday from 9 AM – 4 PM.
If you’d like to help, here’s how:
TSA agents can NOT accept cash or gift cards with bank logos (i.e. VISA, MasterCard or American Express).
They CAN accept grocery store, gas station and restaurant gift cards.
If you are a restaurant owner, manager or know of one who would like to cater lunch for the Long Beach Airport TSA agents and Air Traffic Control team, please reach out to Haley Steinhauser (information below) and she will be happy to coordinate. If you’d like to donate gift cards to your restaurant, someone from our office will be happy to come pick them up.
